About the AWA Method
This is not a critique group.
These workshops are meant to offer you a safe space to write. You can use the prompts, or use the timed sprints to work on your own work in progress. The only hard and fast rule, is to write.
What is the Amherst Writer's & Artist's Method?
The AWA method, is a workshop method focused on offering a more positive writing experience. Unlike many writing workshops and groups, we do not critique any new piece of writing that is created in the workshop. We choose to offer comments about what works in your writing, what we liked, and what stuck with us.
This gives writers the chance and courage to write about difficult things, experimental things, or things they never tried to write before. Knowing what is going well in your writing is just as important as what may be wrong.
Who are these workshops for?
Anyone who wants to write. The stay-at-home parent who wants to get out of the house while the kids are at school. The senior citizen who wants to work on their memoirs. The budding author who needs a place to focus on writing. All are welcome.
Come write with me.
